Policy

Hi, my name is Han and I'm a computer science student at Boston University who wants to make a difference and a living simultaneously.

This site is based off of the philanthropic idea behind FreeRice, where users can play a vocabulary game to help feed the hungry through ad-based revenue. I have the same goal in mind, but I want to make my intentions clear, both for the users of this site as well as for my own personal records.

I have set my salary capped at $250/week, which is an annual salary of $250 x 52 = $13,000, enough for me to pay rent, food, utilities, and hosting. I will not collect any salary before I donate the funds specified by user activity, and I will not collect any salary until this site reaches an average daily income of $50/day for 7 days in a row.

I will honor the donation amounts specified by user activity up to the total amount that Sudoku for Clean Water accrued in earnings; basically, I cannot currently pay for donations out of pocket if the site does not earn the amount that is specified by user activity.

However, if Sudoku for Clean Water earns more than the donation amount specified by user activity plus my maximum allowed salary, the additional funds will also go directly to the Charity: Water non-profit organization at the end of each month.

Although I am under legal contract not to reveal my ad earnings, I can and will however post my donation receipts each month and my daily user activity to demonstrate that I have met my donation requirements.

I hope this transparency is reassuring to you; it's certainly good for my accounting practice and to ensure that I keep my word. I also hope you enjoy the site!
